Asteras Kaisarianis – Apollon Paralimniou
Greece - Novibet Greek Cup, Round 4
Mikrasiatikos, despite competing in the local championship of the Greek League of Athens, boasts a remarkable roster and has successfully advanced to the 4th phase of the Greek Cup by winning two qualifying matches. They began with a 4-1 victory over Granitis Agia Marina away from home and followed it up with a 2-1 win against Mykonos at their home stadium. In the 3rd phase, they received a direct qualification without having to play a match. In the league, they currently lead the 1st group of the A' division with three wins in three matches (including a 2-0 victory against Apollon Dafni, a 1-0 win over AO Peristeri, and a 3-0 triumph against Tyella Agios Dimitriou). Their primary objective is promotion to the 3rd national division, which has become the focus of their efforts, while the Cup takes a secondary position.
Apollon Paralimniou, similar to the previous year when they reached the quarterfinals, is once again making a strong run in the Greek Cup and believes they can achieve significant success. They began their cup journey with a 4-3 away victory against Vistonida, followed by a penalty shootout win (1-1 in regular time) against Anagennisi Arta. In the 3rd phase, they secured a 3-0 home win against Alexandroupoli. In the league, they experienced their first defeat this season, losing 4-2 to Nestos Chrysoupolis. Despite taking the lead with a goal from Gouma in the 16th minute, they conceded an equalizer just before halftime. They briefly regained the lead with Yiannopoulos in the 58th minute but later faced a downturn. Within a span of five minutes, they conceded two goals (in the 68th and 73rd minutes) and fell behind in the score. The final result was confirmed in the 83rd minute.
In the cup, Asia Minor Star Kaisarianis has scored in both of their matches, while Apollon Paralimniou has found the net in all five of their official matches in both the league and the cup.
