Last year's duel between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig for the DFL Supercup trophy was an absolute August spectacle. The famous team from Munich won 5:3 for the 10th title in this competition. With a similar attitude and approach, ready for an open game, these teams will approach the new edition of the trophy match.
Last season in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig avoided defeat in both duels against Bayern. Away in Munich, the Leipzig team won 3:1 in the match played on May 20. Overall, when their duels are played at Bayern's Allianz Arena, both teams insist on an attacking approach. Thus, on February 5 of last year, Bayern beat this opponent on their home field 3:2. On the other hand, RB Leipzig did not have top caliber rivals during the preparations, but in their friendly games this team showed that they want to play offensively again. In the last game on August 5, Spanish Las Palmas was routinely defeated 3:0. The team took important confidence from the end of the previous Bundesliga season – in the last five rounds of the season, RB Leipzig managed to win all, with a triumph in the national cup competition (DFB Pokal in June).
Precisely because of the top form of RB Leipzig and the obvious quality that this team demonstrated during the spring, the triumph of Bayern Munich in front of its fans in 90 minutes of the fight for the DFL Supercup is not a completely certain option. After the regular 90 minutes, with exactly equal chances, it can happen that the result is a draw... Nevertheless, in each of those variants, at least three goals in the match seems like a certain outcome.
Xavi Simmons is an important reinforcement for RB Leipzig, he arrived on loan from PSG. The club managed to hire well-known names such as the excellent young striker Benjamin Sesko, and the extremely fast Lois Openda and Fabio Carvalho... In this way, the Leipzig team ensures that they will be extremely potent offensively again - even though they lost players like forward Nkunku (moved to Chelsea) and midfielder Szoboszlai (finished in Liverpool this summer).
It is clear that RB Leipzig will again play openly against Bayern away, which is a guarantee of entertaining and efficient football in the match for the DFL Supercup.
