Once again, Cincinnati showcased their resilience in last night's game. They bounced back after a three-game series loss to the National League Central-leading Brewers. Milwaukee's loss to Atlanta on Friday narrowed the gap between them and the Reds to just a half-game.

The young Reds lineup took control of the game early, building a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Eddy De La Cruz started with a hit to the right-field corner, turning it into a triple, and then scored on TJ Friedl's groundout. Shortly after, Jake Fraley hit a two-run homer off the right-field foul pole.

In the seventh inning, with the lead trimmed to 3-2, the Reds secured crucial add-on runs. Steer hit a one-out solo homer to left field, and then Dodgers reliever Almonte loaded the bases, hitting Friedl with a pitch and walking McLain on four pitches, resulting in two runs and a 6-2 lead.

Williamson pitched effectively, although not flawlessly, as he had baserunners on in each of his innings, including four walks. However, he managed to induce three double plays to minimize the damage.

In the fourth inning, Fraley's heads-up play created an exciting rundown situation after Rojas hit an RBI single into right field. Fraley charged towards the infield before throwing to India at second base, leading to a rundown. As Chris Taylor tried to break for home, India threw the ball to third base before Taylor was tagged out at the plate.

The Dodgers did mount a comeback, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh against Lucas Sims and Ian Gibaut. However, the rally was eventually shut down by Alex Young.

It is evident that the Reds are determined to give the Dodgers a tough time, as they made a strong statement in the first game of the series. Let's see what happens in tonight's game as the competition continues.
