G2 – MAD Lions
LoL - LEC Season Finals
In my view, G2 is poised to secure a decisive victory in this series, while the ML team is unlikely to secure more than one map, and here's why:
At present, G2 stands as the indisputable and evident favorite of the LEC Summer Split. The team is currently on an impressive 12-game winning streak, asserting their dominance over all other competitors in Europe. Their exceptional synergy among players provides a notable advantage in executing macro-level strategies. Individually, each player also performs remarkably well, showcasing commendable proficiency at all phases of the game. This proficiency reflects the considerable effort they've invested. Additionally, G2 has encountered several instances where they faced setbacks, yet managed to make decisions that facilitated rebounds and turnarounds in specific matches. These observations collectively indicate the team's comprehensive understanding of their strategies and the game dynamics.
Delving into their 12-game winning streak, each victory has been marked by remarkable confidence. Among three best-of-five (bo5) series, they faced a sole defeat against Excel, conceding 2 maps. In the other instances, they either dropped just one map or remained undefeated. Hence, I anticipate this trend to persist in their match against ML.
On the other hand, when considering ML, the team remains perplexing to me at the present moment. Admittedly, they managed to astound everyone with a 3-0 triumph against Excel. However, this victory stands as a solitary instance. Upon closer examination, they've accumulated 7 losses. Notably, these losses haven't solely come from the most formidable opponents. Their gameplay lacks the confidence and stability I would expect. Their equilibrium is easily disrupted, even in situations where they secure optimal drafts.
In my assessment, the chasm in skill level between G2 and ML is vast. G2 stands as an unrivaled leader, substantiating their superiority through consistent practice and gameplay. In contrast, ML exhibits substantial inconsistency; they can remain dormant for 7 successive matches and then suddenly secure a 3-0 victory. However, this doesn't necessarily imply they've improved their game. Rather, it signifies they were propelled by circumstantial factors to defeat their opponents. There's a high probability that their prowess might wane shortly thereafter.
Considering these factors, I hold the opinion that ML is unlikely to claim 2 maps in this encounter. Securing even one map might prove challenging. A victory, let alone two, seems exceedingly improbable.
