Italy – Serie A2, Round 11
PORDENONE-CASTELLANA 09/12/23
Pordenone is the clear favorite. After the midweek slip-up, where they dropped two crucial points against Ravenna, facing Castellana at home is the perfect opportunity for Pordenone to get back on track. In our view, Pordenone (with a much more solid roster than Castellana) is favored to win.
CANTU-PORTO VIRO 10/12/23
This is a tough match. Cantù has shown improved teamwork and performance lately, winning 3-1 against Ortona and narrowly losing in a tiebreak to Brescia midweek. They are currently just outside the relegation zone. Porto Viro, although inconsistent, has demonstrated the potential to perform well, as indicated by their 16 points in the standings. We anticipate a hard-fought and challenging match, with Porto Viro slightly favored.
GROTTA-PINETO 10/12/23
A clear win for Grotta. Match after match, Grotta has proven to be exceptionally strong. In the midweek fixture, they easily defeated Siena in a direct clash for promotion, showcasing high-level volleyball. We believe that Pineto, with fewer ambitions and a dismal mood after losing the Abruzzo derby on Thursday, does not have the resources to challenge Captain Marchiani's formidable team. Grotta is the favorite.
SANTA CROCE-BRESCIA 10/12/23
A complicated match. Santa Croce has finally found its rhythm, integrating new acquisitions and convincingly winning the last two matches. Playing at home, they will undoubtedly aim to secure three crucial points. Brescia has shown inconsistency, with moments of high-quality play interspersed with darker periods. Fatigue may favor Santa Croce, who easily defeated Porto Viro in just three sets on Thursday, while Brescia needed five sets. The match will be tough and tense, but we are inclined to see Santa Croce as the winner.
ORTONA-CUNEO 10/12/23
Cuneo is the favorite. Ortona won the Abruzzo derby in five sets, securing their first victory in 10 matches. However, we still consider it insufficient to challenge a powerhouse like Cuneo.
RAVENNA-REGGIO EMILIA 10/12/23
An unpredictable match. Both teams are inconsistent and present a complicated analysis. Nevertheless, we choose to trust Ravenna, who secured a 3-0 away win against Porto Viro midweek and consistently displays good gameplay and excellent team cohesion.
AVERSA-SIENA 10/12/23
Aversa-Siena is a match that, in our opinion, hides potential pitfalls. Both teams are coming off heavy defeats and will be eager to bounce back. While Siena may have the edge in technical and tactical aspects, the home advantage for the Campanian team could provide an extra push. Personally, we see Siena as slightly favored, but we hesitate to provide a precise analysis.
