Italy SuperLega – Round 14
SATURNIA-PIACENZA – 14/01/24, CET 15:00
Saturnia-Piacenza is the epitome of a top-versus-bottom clash. Saturnia, currently at the bottom and seemingly on the brink of relegation to A2, hosts Romanò and his teammates, who are third in the standings and coming off a fresh victory. The match appears highly uneven, with Piacenza heavily favored to secure three points.
MILANO-CISTERNA – 14/01/24, CET 16:00
Milano is our favorite for victory. Despite Cisterna currently playing good volleyball, we believe Powervolley is in an incredible form, evident from their solitary fifth position in the standings. Since Porro's return to setting, Milano has shown podium-worthy performance, and the team's cohesion has made a significant difference. While we expect Milano to win, we anticipate that Cisterna could take a set, making the game challenging despite being in favor of Milano.
PADOVA-TARANTO – 14/01/24, CET 16:00
Padova-Taranto, in our opinion, is the most complicated match of the day. This game holds the key to the 2024 relegation battle. Padova and Taranto, currently tenth and eleventh in the standings with just one point difference, will compete for crucial three points in the context of avoiding relegation. Both teams have had four losses and one win in their last five matches, but they have shown different characteristics. Taranto has been gritty and determined, accumulating 9 points but managing to win only one game. Padova, with 10 points, has secured four victories, demonstrating more consistency and a team better at handling crucial moments. Hence, we expect a tense, intense, and complicated match, with Padova slightly favored, especially with the home advantage.
PERUGIA-LUBE– 14/01/24, CET 17:00
Perugia-Lube has become one of those matches known for delivering excitement. Two teams of champions that have been competing for the top spot in the league for years. In the last 40 encounters between these two teams, only 10 matches ended with just three sets played. We also believe that Perugia's victory is being taken for granted. Instead, we predict an entertaining match of high-level volleyball and, most importantly, an OVER.
MONZA-MODENA – 14/01/24, CET 16:45
Monza-Modena poses another challenging game. Monza and Modena currently occupy the sixth and eighth positions in the standings, with three points separating the pursuit of the Emilians from the Lombards. The home team is going through a tough period with three consecutive losses, interrupted only by a challenging away game in Sofia on Tuesday. Monza, as expected after the explosive start, is experiencing a physical decline that all teams will eventually face. The Sunday match against Modena is not one of the easiest to reverse the trend. On the other side of the net, the situation is even more critical. Leal, Bruno, and their teammates have suffered an alarming 0/12 sets in the last four matches. This statistic is undoubtedly concerning for Modena and is the main reason for our prediction. Modena's high-level sextet MUST do something to improve the situation, and taking advantage of a tired, influenced, and travel-weary Monza seems like the best opportunity. It's a tough game, and for the bold, an OVER or a 2 could be considered.
TRENTINO-VERONA – 14/01/24, CET 17:00
A challenging match. We certainly don't believe that Trento's victory is worth only 1.15 against a Verona team currently in top form. Verona has secured five victories in their last five matches, demonstrating their ability to compete with anyone. Officially stationed in the playoff zone, Verona has all the cards to perform well even in a challenging away match like the one in Trento.
