Italy SuperLega – Round 17
MILANO-SATURNIA
02/02/24, CET 17:00
Milano-Saturnia is one of those matches where we won't dwell too much. There are too many reasons that make Milano the favorite, with the primary one being the technical and tactical superiority of the home team. Milano is currently in the fifth position in the standings, but in recent weeks, they have been losing ground, especially after two consecutive defeats in the last regular-season games. This is an additional reason to believe that Porro and his teammates will do everything not to falter in such a game. Saturnia, with only one victory out of 15 and increasingly on the verge of relegation to A2, will lose in our prediction, 3-0/3-1.
MONZA-TRENTINO
02/02/24, CET 19:00
Monza-Trentino promises to be an exciting match. It's the second encounter between the two teams, meeting just a week after the Italian Cup. In the last match, Trento was dramatically eliminated from the cup race by Monza in a beautiful five-set game with continuous turnarounds on both sides. Our analysis sees Trentino as the winner, as they rarely lose two games in a row, especially against the same opponent. We believe in a prideful reaction from Trentino, who will step onto the court in Monza with the intention of avenging their loss in the Cup. The match is certainly not easy between two formidable opponents and could be decided after at least four sets. However, Trentino is our favorite.
LUBE-MODENA
04/02/24, CET 17:00
Lube-Modena was not an easy match to analyze. Both teams are not at their best. Lube has been struggling more than usual in recent games, and the match won only in the fifth set against the bottom team is a clear demonstration. However, Modena is in an even worse moment, with a season that never took off and shaken by continuous changes and discontent in the city. It's a tough, complicated match, but in our opinion, the home team will come out on top.
PIACENZA-PERUGIA
04/02/24, CET 17:00
Piacenza-Perugia is a real match, full of excitement. When matches are between such strong, evenly matched teams, the difference between defeat and victory is sometimes very thin. That's why we can only recommend OVER POINTS MATCH in this case.
TARANTO-CISTERNA
04/02/24, CET 19:00
Another match not easy to analyze. This is a clash from the relegation zone, where every game is crucial. Eight points separate Taranto (second to last in the standings) from Cisterna, which has recently seemed to find better coordination and tranquility in the starting six. They have won three out of the last five matches, creating a significant gap with teams in the relegation battle. For us, Cisterna is favored on paper, but such an important clash, in a heated Taranto arena, makes us uneasy. Our advice is, therefore, Taranto wins at least one set.
