Italy SuperLega – Round 8

TARANTO-MODENA 02/12/23

The eighth round of the men's Superlega takes center stage in Taranto. Taranto hosts Modena in a very challenging encounter for the Puglian boys. Modena has shown significant improvement in recent matches, and their mostly renewed sextet is starting to click, as evidenced by their sixth position in the standings. On the home side, despite still having 0 victories, they have displayed promising performances in recent matches, including the point earned in the last match against Lube. We expect an unpredictable match, where Taranto may win at least one set. However, Modena is our favorite for the overall victory.

PERUGIA-CISTERNA 02/12/23

Perugia-Cisterna is one of those matches where it's not worth wasting too many words. For us, Perugia wins, and with a full haul of points.

LUBE-TRENTINO 03/12/23

Lube-Trento is undoubtedly the big match of the day. As big matches teach us, it will not be a quick and painless game. Instead, we expect a long and challenging match, slightly in favor of Trento.

Currently, Michieletto and his teammates are in second place in the standings, just two points behind the top spot, with a streak of 5 consecutive victories. Lube, on the other hand, comes from the 5-set match against Taranto, where the best version of Lube was not on display. Therefore, we give a slight advantage to Trentino, who, in our opinion, will prevail in the end.

PADOVA-SATURNIA 03/12/23

Padova-Saturnia is a match where we hesitate to give you a favorite for victory. Two gritty teams with the same goal and the same need for points. We see Padova slightly favored, with the home factor and a bit more rationale to secure the win. However, Saturnia has recently improved, and we know they are a team that never gives up when it matters. A complicated match.

PIACENZA-VERONA 03/12/23

Piacenza-Verona is another head-to-tail clash of the day. Here, too, we consider the home team overwhelmingly favored for the victory (3-0/3-1).

MONZA-MILANO 04/12/23

Monza-Milano is a derby to savor. The Milanese teams face off in a match that holds significant stakes. The two teams are 4 points apart, with Milano chasing Verovolley, currently third in the standings. Monza has won 4 of the last 5 matches, including a victory against the league leaders, Piacenza. Milano, on the other hand, is a bit more inconsistent and has not yet achieved the same collective cohesion as the home team.

However, we expect a fiery derby where both teams will give their all. The match is likely to be high-scoring, with Monza considered the favorite if we're willing to take a risk.
