Lube - Piacenza
SuperLega, Round 20
The Direct Clash for Fourth Place
On Sunday, February 19th, Eurosole in Civitanova will host the ninth round of the second half of the season, which will see the home team playing against one of the most in-form teams of the moment, Piacenza. The match promises to be one-sided in favor of Coach Botti's team, Piacenza, who has been on a roll lately after a period of blackout due to the absences of Leal and Lucarelli. They managed to defeat a formidable Milano team and turn around the quarterfinals of the CEV Cup with a 3-0 win at home, ultimately winning the golden set against a French team in just an hour and fifteen minutes. Lucarelli's return and Romanò's improving performances (he ended the last match with 62% attack efficiency) have led to a better overall team performance.
On the other side of the net, Lube is struggling to find continuity and strength despite having prominent players. Only Yant and De Cecco (who renewed his contract) seem to stand out from a team that doesn't dare too much. Despite their last victory against Cisterna, the statistics do not speak of a great performance from either team, with a great struggle, except for Chinenyeze and Yant, in attack with statistics that do not exceed 42% and an equally low efficiency.
In my opinion, Sunday's match will see a clear victory for Piacenza, and I don't think Lube will be able to win more than one set, even though they play in front of their home crowd.
