Master 1000 Madrid - Day 3 Table changed

Coric B. Hassan B.
Coric, a very experienced player who prefers fast surfaces like Madrid's clay, possesses excellent trajectories both on serve and with his forehand. His ability to vary trajectories constantly to his advantage and capitalize on advantageous balls to attack could put his opponent, who is not remotely at his level, in great difficulty. For me, this match will be dominated by Coric, but watch out for the uncertainties the Croatian currently has.

Kokkinakis T. Draper J.
Both players prefer fast surfaces, but despite his 192 cm, Draper has shown excellent agility on these courts, coming from a semifinal in Monaco on similar surfaces. For me, his serve and forehand could give him an advantage over Kokkinakis, who can certainly be dangerous, especially with his serve and return, but who remains a notch below on these courts. That said, I believe there could be a match, and a tie-break in the match cannot be ruled out.

Nakashima B. Bagnis F.
Both players are coming off two very convincing wins, both solid on serve but also capable of attacking in response, staying close to the baseline and giving depth to their shots. As for Nakashima, his journey in the Barcelona tournament is starting to take its toll, and at times during the match, he seemed tired and sluggish in chasing the ball, which could cost him against a player like Bagnis who offers many variations. On the other hand, Bagnis has experience and knowledge of the surface, which recently led him to win a match against Zeppieri against the odds. This could also be a hard-fought match that could eventually tilt in favor of the Argentine.

Klein L. Llamas Ruiz P.
Both players come from the Challenger circuit and have shown great aptitude on clay, especially this Madrid clay. Klein, a more powerful and aggressive player who pushes with his forehand whenever he can, sometimes overdoing it, faces the young Spaniard who has shown remarkable variations in pace and spin in response, causing errors. Both these variables could lead to a hard-fought match that might eventually favor the young Spaniard, buoyed by the home crowd.

Moutet C. Shang J.
Moutet, an eccentric player who loves to vary and put a lot of spin on the ball, trying to throw off his opponent's timing and forcing errors due to his lack of power in his shots. Shang is a promising 2005-born player with excellent power, especially in his forehand and serve, and has shown comfort on clay. These conditions could favor him, especially given the many matches his opponent has played recently. I believe this match could go to a third set, perhaps with the Frenchman winning the first but losing in the end.

Galan D.E. Bautista R.
Galan, a South American player very proficient on slightly slower clay despite having powerful shots, especially with his forehand but also very prone to errors. On the other hand, Bautista, who surprisingly lost to Ramos Vinolas but buoyed by his comeback win in the first round, could be considered the favorite, especially thanks to his consistency and power from the baseline mixed with excellent variations.

Gasquet R. Sonego L.
A resurgent Gasquet has brilliantly overcome the first two qualifying rounds, but this might be felt in a physically demanding match against Sonego. Gasquet's backhand is undoubtedly his strongest and most incisive shot, and he will likely aim to exploit that weak diagonal against Sonego. Sonego will need to rely heavily on his serve and quickly close points with his forehand to avoid getting stuck in Gasquet's net. It could be a hard-fought match that could ultimately see the Italian victorious.
