Mirandola - Brugherio
Italy - A3- Play-out 16/04/2023
On Sunday at 6:00 pm, the second game (best of 3) of the losing phase will take place, which will determine the relegation to Serie B for either Mirandola or Brugherio. The team from Emilia-Romagna will host the pink devils from Milan at the Marco Simoncelli Palasport. Sunday's game is the last chance for the home team, who lost 3-1 in the first game, but with sets always ending with a minimum margin (the fourth set ended 31-29). Despite the defeat, the Mirandola team played well and deserved more. If the Modena team were to lose the second game, they would be mathematically relegated to Serie B. If they win, the relegation issue will be postponed to game 3, to be played again in Milan. The Modena team is composed of many experienced players, unlike Brugherio, which has the youngest average age of all teams in the championship. Another aspect to highlight is the home advantage, which is always crucial in volleyball, and even more so if that court is the Marco Simoncelli in Modena... very small, hot, and already sold out. Moreover, throughout the regular season, the stadium has been a real fortress, where even the top teams of the championship, including Brugherio, have lost points, leaving all the points at stake to Mirandola (3-0). For all these reasons, Mirandola, a more experienced team, in an electrifying atmosphere like that of a relegation game 2, could leverage the inexperience of the visitors.
