Anything but a very convincing Nordsjaelland win over Hvidovre would be a surprise on Monday, in the last match of Danish Superliga round 9.
The home team in Farum has an obligation to get closer to the champions and biggest rivals FC Copenhagen at the top of the table with a victory. In the past eight rounds, Nordsjaelland stood out as the team that plays the most attractive attacking football in Denmark. This team scored as many as 21 goals in eight matches in the domestic championship - on their home field in Farum, that's 12 goals in four Superliga matches and seven goals in two games in Europa Conference League qualifierss
Rivals Hvidovre have completely disappointed and are in last 12th place in the Superliga, with only two points won and 14 goals conceded in eight matches. The worst thing about the Hvidovre team is the impression that their form is not improving. They have five defeats and one draw in the last almost two months. They conceded only two goals in the last two defeats - but it is expected that in the match against Nordsjaelland their defense will be put to much greater and tougher tests.
In the defeat against Lyngby at home 1:0 (September 17), the Hvidovre team allowed the opponent 16 shots. Before that, in a 1-0 defeat away from home to the ever-improving Silkeborg on September 3, the winning team also completely dominated against Hvidovre.
Nordsjaelland, interestingly, has no win in the last five matches against this opponent! However, in recent years they have not played at all. Hvidovre's 2:0 home win in the national cup in mid-November 2020 is their last match. In the last two decades, the Hvidovre team did not have the opportunity to play in the highest rank of the Danish championship. It is expected that they will be in a lower rank again next season.
In the week ahead, the Farum team is not burdened with playing matches in the Europa Conference League, so the good performance of all starters in Nordsjaelland squad is expected. The only problem for the favorites is the injury of the striker, young Finnish national team player Antman. Danish forward Ingvartsen is expected to take responsibility, so far in the season he has four goals and two assists.
Striker Ramkilde will probably not play for Hvidovre, and the team has scored only three goals so far in the Superliga season and will hardly be able to threaten the absolute favourites. It is expected that Nordsjaelland will solve the question of the winner in the first half - and then secure an extremely convincing victory and additionally position themselves as the most powerful attacking team in Denmark.
