Panathinaikos - H. Be'er Sheva
Worls - Club Friendly Games, Round 1. 14/07/2023
Panathinaikos maintained a perfect record of "5 out of 5" in their Austrian friendlies, securing a 3-1 victory in their last match against AEK Larnaca. The team had a breakthrough performance in the second half, scoring all three goals within a span of 15 minutes (48' Mladenovic, 59' Vagiannidis, 63' Geremegev), while conceding a goal in the 65th minute. They have now returned to Greece, where they will undergo two more tests. Tonight, it was announced that they will face Rayo Vagecano on July 18th, a match that will essentially serve as a dress rehearsal for their upcoming matches against Dnipro in the second qualifying round of the Champions League (with the first game scheduled for July 25th).
The latest addition to the team, midfielder Vilena, has started training and will make his unofficial debut. Schenkefeld, Tserin, and Ioannidis trained individually (none of them played in the previous friendly), with Schenkefeld having a chance of getting some playing time, while the other two will be protected.
Panathinaikos has been performing well in their friendly matches, although their encounter with Hapoel Be'er Sheva left mixed impressions. The weather conditions may favor the Israeli team, but Panathinaikos aims for a prestigious victory in their first friendly match in front of their home fans.
