Paok B - Niki Volou
Greece - Super League 2, Group A, Round 23
Niki Volou celebrated their second consecutive victory, this time with a 1-0 win over Iraklis of Larisa, whom they never underestimated. They started the match strongly, threatening in the first minute with Siafa and vindicating themselves in the eighth minute with Gromitsaris' goal from a corner kick. They were never worried at the back and just before the break, they almost scored a second goal with Siafa but couldn't find the back of the net. The tempo didn't change in the second half. Playing in a permanent attacking role, they had important moments with Miranda (47'), Giora (53', 80') and Kritikos (58'), while at the end of the 90 minutes, they missed a penalty with Meche sending the ball out. They climbed to 5th place in the standings and aim to enter the 3rd place, currently at -3 from Anagennisi Karditsa. They could have been closer, but with the decision of the disciplinary body, they lost on paper (3-0) the match against AEL and were deducted a point.
In other competition news, the preparation for the match in Nea Efkarpia was completed without any problems. Dimitris Eleftheropoulos has no injury or suspension problems and is expected to line up the best possible lineup. Logaras returns, except for Delizisis who is not counted. PAOK B' has not won a home game in a long time, but Niki Volou is not considered the ideal opponent to return to winning ways. Dimitris Eleftheropoulos' team is also in excellent form, usually playing openly. I expect a match with goals from both teams.
