After the unexpected defeat of champions FC Copenhagen at home against Mitjylland on Saturday (2:0), Silkeborg has a completely unexpected opportunity to take over the top of the Danish Superliga table on Sunday.
The match of the 10th round, away to Randers, will not be easy for Silkeborg. The home team has two wins in the last five rounds of the Superliga, after a bad start they reached the place in the middle of the table and the safe zone.

On the other hand, the away team is playing better and better, they have as many as seven victories in a row in all competitions. In the last nine matches, Silkeborg managed to score at least two goals eight times.
When it comes to the duels between these opponents, last season in the national cup (in November 2022) Silkeborg won in Randers 3:1. In their last nine matches, seven times both teams managed to score at least a goal. It is always about duels in which both teams are primarily looking for a chance to win - so at least three goals are expected in the game.
Striker Tonni Adamsen will certainly not play for Silkeborg in this match, but that should not be a problem for the favourites. During the team's remarkable series of games during September, he made only one appearance. On the other hand, midfielder Lauenborg will not play for Randers, who has not played a single game this season and last played in January.
The Silkeborg team has a significantly greater motive in the fight for victory in this game, and the Randers players will not perform primarily with the aim of defending themselves. The visitors are expected to look for the lead in the early stages of the match - which guarantees an entertaining and interesting fight between the rivals in the Super League from the start.
For Silkeborg, these are absolutely historic days, the club won the only championship title in 1994, and the last trophy in 2001. Randers will know how to threaten an excellent opponent. So, we will probably get a realistic picture of the quality of the favorites and the team aiming for the first place in the table at the beginning of October – in a match that will be marked by attacking play.
