Serie A2, Round 26
AVERSA-GROTTAZZOLINA
For us, Aversa-Grottazzolina is definitely a match to avoid. Aversa already celebrated staying up last Sunday, while Grottazzolina was celebrating securing the first place mathematically. It's a game where there's really nothing at stake for either team, so this could be the right opportunity to give playtime to those who haven't had much of it so far. Giving you a sensible analysis of this match is really difficult for us.
CASTELLANA-ORTONA
Castellana-Ortona is our key match. We predict that the hosts will win, and by a full 3 points. This is because Ortona is already mathematically relegated, the atmosphere is among the worst possible, and the last away game certainly doesn't help the team from Abruzzo. To reinforce this further, Castellana, with the 3 points, would have the chance to achieve the feat of staying up on the last day in front of their fans! For us, there's no doubt about Castellana.
CUNEO-CANTU
Cuneo lost their last match against Pordenone, seriously jeopardizing a second place that had been theirs throughout the season. The three points on Sunday are extremely important, coming in the last game of the season and in front of their fans. There's little motivation for the Cantù team, already mathematically safe and out of the playoffs. For us, a clear 1.
SANTA CROCE-SIENA
Despite Santa Croce-Siena being a great match, a derby, and always a clash of high-level volleyball, we recommend a win for Siena, even though we expect a match that's not too obvious. Santa Croce is automatically out of the playoffs, and three points more or less wouldn't change the team's fate. Siena, however, intending to maintain the second place just taken from Cuneo, will enter the field wanting to absolutely bring home the win.
PINETO-RAVENNA
Pineto celebrated in their last match, securing mathematical safety with a round to spare by earning a point. The Abruzzo team will therefore be able to celebrate the seasonal objective in front of their fans, greeting them in the best way possible and without the pressure of having to earn points necessarily. To spoil the party, Ravenna arrives in Pineto intending to take home three important points that could be worth third place. We know that Pineto will still play the match, but we believe that Ravenna has more chances and motivations to win.
PORTO VIRO-PORDENONE
Porto Viro-Pordenone produced an Over because, although the moment for Pordenone is excellent, and three points would significantly shake up the standings, we know that the Porto Viro team will still want to make a good impression in their last home match in their "fortress." Therefore, we believe that both teams can win at least one set, but we think that Pordenone is slightly favored to win in the end.
REGGIO-BRESCIA
The unusual Over of Reggio Brescia came about because earning a point for Reggio Emilia would mean staying up, at home, on the last day. Although Brescia is clearly superior, we do not feel comfortable saying that they will easily win the match, knowing how much it means for Reggio. At the same time, we do not feel comfortable saying that a team like Brescia could lose 3-0. This is why we're predicting an OVER.
