Tilikratis – Egaleo
Greece - Betsson Super League 2, Group B, Round 1
Telicrates is entering a professional category for the first time in its history, and it's clear that they are facing a challenging season, being one of the favorites for relegation. They began their planning late, just a few weeks ago, and as a result, they didn't play any friendly matches. Under the guidance of Andreas Panziaras, they are relying on many players from last year's roster to fight for survival. In their first official match for the Greek Cup, they secured a 1-0 away victory against Haniotis. Although they weren't superior to their opponents, they had the luck to score in the late stages of the match with Niforopoulos, clinching the victory.
Regarding competition news, last season in the 3rd National Team, Telicrates rarely announced the lineup before matches, and this tactic seems to continue in their first official championship match. There have been no reports of injury absences.
Egaleo, on the other hand, has undergone significant changes, not only in terms of its administrative structure but also in terms of its roster. While they have assembled a completely new team recently, they had an impressive start in their first official match, defeating Makedonikos 4-0 in Nea Efkarpia and advancing to the next phase of the Greek Cup. They controlled the match and opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a goal from Daviotis. Their solid defense helped maintain the lead, and they secured the victory with two goals in three minutes during the second half (69' Daviotis, 72' Zygeridis). Marathonitis sealed the final result in stoppage time. In their only pre-season friendly, they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Panathinaikos II.
In terms of match news, Egaleo's squad is almost at full strength, with Dragan Djuganovic not facing any major problems and including 20 players in the squad for the Zakynthos match. Several players, including Petkovic, Doumas, Christofilopoulos, Blackson, Tassioulis, Ramirez, Kamara, and Kollas, were left out of the game.
Given the circumstances, Telicrates is a team that came together at the last minute, and their transfers haven't been impressive. Egaleo, with more experience in the division, has had a strong start to the season and is closer to securing a victory.
